I don’t even know where to begin with this amazing shoot! A dear friend, Kathy of Kathy Thomas Photography, put this session together to shine the spotlight on marriage equality. Only six photographers were asked to participate in the styled shoot and I am beyond honored that she asked me, and trusted me to tell such an important story.
Both of our same-sex couples have been together for many years. Jenn and Lisa got married in Hawaii, but their union was not recognized in the state of Florida until just January 6th of this year! And Kenny and Adam have a civil union through Orange County, but if they went anywhere outside of Orange County that union was no longer recognized. It blows my mind that in this day and age two people who are very much in love and committed to one other cannot be recognized as legally married in some states. I’m so happy that Florida has finally taken that huge step forward!
This shoot was such a dream and I hope you love the images just as much as I do!
